MEDINA, OH July 15, 2008: J4 PROMOTIONS INC. IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE FINAL LINEUP IS SET FOR THE 2008 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. THE BIG AIR, EXTREME VERTICAL AND SPEED RETRIEVE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RIGHTS ARE UP FOR GRABS. THIS EVENT WILL ALSO DEBUT THE IRON DOG WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE FIRST TIME WHERE TOP IRON DOG TEAMS WILL BATTLE TO SEE WHO IS THE ALL ROUND BEST TEAM.
DockDogs® has through an extensive qualification process invited the top dogs from all over the world to come together in Stillwater Minnesota the weekend of July 25th as a part of STIHL'S DOGS & LOGS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS to compete head to head and define the 4 Teams that will hold the crowns for the next year.
"From Rookies to Veterans to defending Champions... this weekend will see the top 24 Big Air® Dogs, the top 16 Extreme Vertical® teams and the top 18 Speed Retrieve™ teams from all over the World compete in the prestigious once a year event. It truly is the event that raises the standard once again for DockDogs®" worldwide, comments CEO for J4 Promotion Inc., Grant Reeves. "It will be very exciting to see the competition rounds will play out and which teams will be standing on the Dock come Sunday afternoon's final rounds. The event schedule features DockDogsâ as well as the Lumberjack World Championships. DockDogs® will hold qualifying rounds for all disciplines Thursday through Saturday with the Finals being held on Sunday to determine who truly is the best of the best. No matter which Teams come out on top, this event promises to be a very exciting one."
This event is being filmed for broadcast in December as a feature on the Outdoor Channel in 4 half-hour specials. The fifteen-man camera crew from the Outdoor Channel will capture all the high-flying action.
The new all all-round challenge of Iron Dog will also be unveiled at this event. Teams set to compete in this area had to be ranked in all 3 disciplines in order to be considered for an invite for this category. They were then ranked amongst each other and the top 11 teams have been chosen.
